Success in an exam depends completely on three
factors. They are
a. Structure/ Design of Preparation Plan
b. Proper implementation of Preparation plan
c. Performance in the exam
Here in this post, I will discuss about the
preparation strategy for the exam.
If you are preparing for the civil services exam
there is no need for you to have a separate plan for TSPSC group 1 exam. Just
continue your preparation for civil services exam but only thing to add in your
preparation plan is Telangana state – Geography, economy, policies, society and
culture.
I am writing this post to provide a proper preparation
plan for those who are preparing for only TSPSC Group 1 exam.
If you are new to this, I mean if you started
your preparation recently or if you are going to start your preparation soon,
this post is going to provide some useful information regarding Preparation.
First recommended step for anyone who is about
to start preparation is to read and remember syllabus ( CLICK HERE FOR SYLLABUS ) and to go through few
previous papers. But as this will be the first Group 1 exam to be conducted after
the state formation there are no previous question papers.
Do not worry as there are no availability of previous
question papers and model question papers for you to gain some insights. But
you can go through the civil service preliminary exam question papers of past 3
to 5 years. You can also check the APPSC group 1 preliminary exam papers
conducted in the year 2017 and 2019. These will help you in understanding how
the questions are being framed.
You should start your preparation with the core
subjects – History, Geography, Polity & Constitution, and Economy. (More
than 60% of the question paper will consists questions from these subjects)
Initially you can take History and polity subjects.
Split your preparation day into two parts. During the first part of the day you
can read History and in the later part you can read Polity. Continue this for
first two weeks.
Week
# 1 and 2
PART – 1 of the Preparation Day |
PART – 2 of the Preparation Day |
(3

(3

After first two weeks in this way, later from third
week you can split your preparation day into three parts. Include Geography.
Continue this way in third and fourth week.

PART – 3 of the Preparation Day |

After following this way for 4 weeks now you need
to keep one subject out and include Economy in its place. By the end of 4th
week you will find either History or Polity interesting or easy to tackle. So
keep that subject which you feel interesting/ easy out of preparation plan for
few weeks and include Economy in its place.

By the end of 6th week you should
gain confidence in all the four subjects.

your preparation for six weeks you will become comfortable with six hours of
daily preparation. From 7th week you can increase your study time by

During the 7th week of your
preparation, split your preparation day into four parts.
During this week give high priority to the
subject – Telangana state (geography, economy, policies, society and cultural
aspects) and try to work on basic numerical concepts like averages,
percentages, time, speed and distance, ratio and proportions, simplifications,
probability etc. These concepts help you in solving logical reasoning and
analytical problems
