1.
Memorize Syllabus:
From the website of APPSC or from the previous notification
you can find the syllabus of Group 2 exam.
You should start your preparation by memorizing the syllabus.
It is highly important to know the syllabus so that you can
focus on what to read or learn.
For example, in the syllabus it is clearly mentioned that the
history part of the syllabus includes modern Indian History. If you do not read
the syllabus copy, under history you think you need to read ancient and
medieval India too. But it is not necessary.
So the aspirants of APPSC group 2 examination can eliminate
the ancient and medieval India history.
Similarly under Geography only Indian Geography is to be read.
No need of World Geography.
We recommend you to memorize the syllabus so that the field
and borders of the syllabus will be well defined and you can focus only on the
parts mentioned in the syllabus.
2. Read
all the questions from the previous papers:
Grab last 3 to 4 question papers of recent past. Read each
question. Observe how the question and options were framed.
This step will help you understand the trend of question
asking and type of questions being asked.
3. Build
the basic foundation:
Prepare a list of basic books required to build the foundation
in
the subjects mentioned in the syllabus.
This list includes
a. NCERT books of History, Geography, General science
b. laxmikanth for Indian polity and constitution
c. CBSE books on disaster management
d. 12th NCERT Biology book – Unit 10 to cover
environment aspects
e. Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act 2014
If you are a beginner, set a target of few weeks and complete
the basic books.
This step enables you to cover all the fundamentals of the
subjects.
4. Refer
Secondary sources
Once you are done with the basic books. You should note key
points from various standard secondary sources.
This sources include,
a. websites of ministries
b. reports and publications of various ministries
c. schemes and policies of government
d. year book
e. monthly current affairs magazine
f. Modern India by spectrum
g. Indian geography by Khullar or Majjid Hussain
h. Press Information Bureau releases
and many more
5. Mock
Tests
You can start taking mock tests after completion of your basic
books.
Join any good test series and attempt a maximum number of mock
tests to build confidence.
Analyse each mock test and learn from your mistakes.
