Andhra Pradesh Magazine September 2018 - Key points



1. UDYANA – 2018:
It is an international trade fair in Horticulture sector.
Organised by Department of Horticulture in collaboration with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Andhra Pradesh chapter and International Competence for Organic Agriculture (ICCOA).
Held at VR Siddhartha Engineering College, Kanuru.

2. A replica of the Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple is going to be built at Amaravati, by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD).

3. Amaravati Bonds 2018:
It is issued by AP Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA).
These bonds were listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The AP state government stood guarantee for the bonds.
The government offered a moderate 10.32% interest on the bonds.

4. AP Chief Minister participated in the international Day of the World’s Indigenous people (Adivasi Day) celebrations at Paderu Village in Visakhapatnam on August 9.

5. Jnanabheri:
It is a unique platform for students to interact with chief minister and discuss, share their ideas.
First edition of Jnanabheri held at SV University, Tirupati.
Second Edition held at Vishakapatnam’s Andhra University campus.

6. AP Chief Minister has laid foundation stone for Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) building named after Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam at Dubagunta Village, Prakasam District.

7. AP State government has entered into an MoU with UAE Forum to develop golf course, convention centre, and recreational facilities in the Islands of River Krishna.

8. Holitech Technology, component manufacturing industry that provides parts for high end and expensive mobile phones, has signed an MoU with the AP Government to establish a manufacturing unit in Tirupathi.

9. Ease of Living Index:
Released by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
A total of 111 cities were taken into consideration.
Rankings were decided based on the institutional, social, economic and physical parameters which include governance, health, education, economy and employment, public open spaces, power supply, water supply, transport, solid waste management.
According to rankings,
Tirupati – 4th Most livable city in India
Vijayawada – 6th most livable city in India.

10. Tourism Development Corporation of AP, in association with Department of posts has come forward with an innovative idea of printing postal stamps on 12 popular tourist destinations.

11. AP Chief Minister inaugurated a 2 Megawatts solar floating power plant at Vishakapatnam, built on Mudasarlova reservoir.
