APPSC Group 1 Mains Paper 1 Preparation tips
Candidate should write three Essays one from each section compulsorily.
Each section contains three topics.
Each Essay carries 50 marks.
Syllabus:
SECTION-I - Crisis management, Social, Economic and Health Problems, Analysis and solutions, Conflict Resolution, Decision Making, Ecological intelligence.
SECTION-II –Current events, policies, schemes and programmes of National and International importance.
SECTION-III –Current events, policies, schemes and programmes of the State of Andhra Pradesh
How to Prepare?
This paper can be well tackled by the candidate if he/she is well aware of the current events i.e. of the last one year.
Take each section and try to find out topics.
For example, in section one, there is a topic mentioned as crisis management. Try to find out such issues in the last one year (i.e. from September 2016 onwards).
You can find issues under crisis management such as
a. Demonetization – implementation and management of it
b. Ongoing crisis in Kashmir
You can find issues under conflict resolution such as Cauvery river issue between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, EVM tampering issue etc.
In section II, you can find issues related to International and National policies such as US Immigration policy and its impact on Indian IT companies, China Pakistan Economic corridor, Simulatneous elections in Center and state,etc.
In Section III, you can follow AP Official Magazine for latest schemes, policies etc.
The sources include:
1. Editorials of Newspapers like The Hindu, Indian Express and Business standard
2. Cover page issues of Magazines like Frontline, Kurukshetra, Yojana, Andhra Pradesh Magazine.
3. Other important sources include Economic and political weekly, The Diplomat, Press Information Bureau.
4. Debates/Discussions in News channels
Try to collect proper facts on each topic you listed out.
Then try to form a well-balanced opinion on the topic.
Each essay carries 50 marks and you have to allot one hour per essay.
Writing practice plays a major role in scoring good marks. So, try to write three to four essays every week.
