This year group 1 screening test is based on new syllabus and it is the first group 1 recruitment test in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
More than 90000 candidates applied for the exam.
The number of vacancies available is 78.
As per the notification, for each available vacancy the commission will give chance to 50 candidates to appear for the exam (i.e. they follow 1:50 ratio). On that basis, a total of 3900 candidates will be shortlisted for mains examination which will be conducted in the month of August, 2017.
Cut-off mark estimation depends on factors such as
a. Number of candidates appeared for the exam.
b. Standard of the paper
c. Performance of candidates
This year the standard of screening test for group 1 is increased.
One has to understand Group 1 screening test is no longer direct questions based which can be answered by reading few basic books. One has to read multiple sources to gain wide knowledge and also to read current affairs with deep insights.
One more important thing is negative marking which is introduced from this year’s exam.
A penalty of 1/3rd mark for every wrong answer.
Because of negative marking, there is a possibility of getting negative scores by some candidates who may be involved in wild guesses.
