IAAS is under the office of
Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India.
Recruitment is through Civil
Services Exam.
The training of directly
recruited officers is mainly at National Academy of Audit and Accounts, Shimla.
The officer Trainees are also
given an International exposure through attachment with London School of
Economics and Political Science.
The officer’s responsibility is
to audit the accounts of the Union & State Government and Public Sector
Organizations and for maintaining the accounts of State Governments.
The officers also go abroad to
conduct Embassy Audit.
