NATIONAL SCHOOL OF DRAMA:
- It was set up by Sangeet Natak Akademi in 1959.
- In 1975 it became an autonomous organisation.
- The objective of NSD is to train students in all aspects of theatre.
- The training course at NSD is of three years duration.
- The theatre in education company (renamed as Sanskar Rang Toli) was founded in 1989 and has been actively involved in the production of plays for children.
INDIRA GANDHI NATIONAL CENTRE FOR THE ARTS:
- It was established in the year 1987.
- It is a premier national institution engaged in the pursuit of knowledge on arts and culture.
- It has six functional units:
1. Kala Nidhi, the multi form library.
2. Kala Kosa, devoted mainly to the study and publication of fundamental texts in Indian Languages.
3. Janapada Sampada, engaged in life style studies.
4. Kaladarsana, the executive unit
5. Cultural Informatics Lab
6. Sutaradhara, the administrative section
- The IGNCA has three regional centers in India
a. Southern Regional center at Bengaluru.
b. Centre's office at Varnasi.
c. The field center of the IGNCA is at Guwahati.
CENTER FOR CULTURAL RESOURCES AND TRAINING(CCRT):
- It was established in the year 1979.
- It is working in the field of linking education with culture.
- It has three regional centres at Udaipur, Hyderabad and Guwahati.
- One of the most important functions of the CCRT is to implement the Cultural Talent Search scholarship scheme.
ZONAL CULTURAL CENTERS (ZCC):
- The Seven zonal cultural centers were established in 1985-86 at Patiala, Kolkata, Thanjavur, Udaipur, Allahabad, Dimapur and Nagpur.
