b. Paper – 2

Each paper consists of 120 questions.

In this post, we will discuss regarding paper – 1.

Paper – 1 consists of 4 subjects each carries 30 marks. They are as follows,
1. History & Culture
2. Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International Relations
3. Indian and Andhra Pradesh Economy
4. Geography

                                     Preparation Strategy

APPSC has taken a good decision by giving equal importance to all the subjects mentioned in the syllabus. Now the aspirants also should prepare all the subjects with equal importance.

Here we will discuss the 5 steps of preparation strategy.

Step # 1: Prioritize the subjects based on the difficulty level

Arrange the 4 subjects in an order of priority based on the difficulty level.
How to do it?
Among these 4 subjects which do you find the most difficult should be your subject of first priority.
Example if you find Indian and AP economy the most difficult or challenging subject it should be your top priority subject. It means you need to start your preparation daily with this subject.
In the same way, prioritize other subjects too.
Order of Priority
Subject
1
Indian and AP Economy
2
History and culture
3
Geography
4
Constitution, polity, social justice and International relations
                                                 (given as an example)
There is a general tendency among many aspirants to read the subject more often which is easy to understand. This step makes you clear that you have to spend more time in learning subjects of top priority.

Step # 2: Enlist the topics

Under this step, you have to check the syllabus and list out the topics under each subject.
How to do it?
List out the topics under History and culture from the syllabus copy as follows,
1. Indus Valley Civilization
2. Vedic Age
3. Mahajanapadas
4. Jainism
5. Buddhism................

In the same way list out topics from other subjects.
By following this step, you will know the number of topics under each subject.

Step # 3: Prepare weekly targets for each subject

Assume there are 10 weeks for the preparation.
Divide the topics of each subject into 10 parts.
How to do it?
For instance, if there are 40 topics under History and culture subject. You need to target 4 topics every week.
In the same way, follow for other subjects too.

Step # 4: Revision Time

Revision is the key to success.
Revision should be on daily basis.
Include revision time in your daily list. Initially, start with 10 minutes as days pass by increase your revision time.

Step # 5: Practice model tests

Once you completed all the topics mentioned in the syllabus now its time to test your performance in the exam.
You can take subject wise tests or full syllabus based mock tests.
Use mock tests to know your strengths and difficulties. Understand to manage time.
