In 2011 UPSC added new topic i.e. Environmental ecology, biodiversity and climate change to the syllabus of G.S paper I of prelims examination. Since then UPSC has been asking 10 to 15 questions from this topic. So it is important to give its due recognition and amount of time during preparation.
