Study plan for SSC - Combined Graduate Level Examination General Awareness section

Hi Aspirants
Here in this post we would like to publish preparation plan for General Awareness section. This section contains 50 questions and is for 50 marks. Those who prepared well for this section can complete this section in less than 20 minutes.
Questions are from subjects like History, science, geography, polity, economics, current affairs.

We suggest you to give first priority to General Science. In General Science questions are asked on fundamental concepts of physics, chemistry and Biology. You can expect good number of questions from general science. Just depend on NCERT books of 6th class to 10th class for Science. Read and revise thoroughly. There are 82 chapters in NCERT books of 6th to 10th class. Try to read 4 chapters daily. It takes 60 - 90 minutes daily. In 20 days you can complete NCERT science books.

Your next priority should be History. History is a vast subject but most of the questions will be direct questions. They can be answered if you are well prepared. First complete NCERT books of 6th, 7th and 8th class History books. You can complete them in 15 days.

After History move to polity section. In previous papers you can notice minimum 3 - 5 questions from this section. We recommend you to read Indian polity by Laxmikanth. It is one best book available for Indian polity. If you can buy please buy it otherwise you can take from your seniors, friends or buy for economic rate available at old book shops.

 The book is divided in to 11 parts. Out of those first part takes more time to read and understand. So finish that part in 3 days and remaining parts can be completed in 12 days. This book can be completed in 15 days.

Geography is other important section. Devote 1 hour daily for 20 days. First complete 9th NCERT book. It deals with India (rivers, climate, vegetation, wildlife, population etc). Then read 10th NCERT book. It deals with resources of our country ( water, energy, agriculture, minerals, industries, forests etc). Then 11th NCERT book of Fundamentals of Physical geography. Once you are thorough with these books then you can read other manuals or books on geography.

For Economics section try to understand concepts and terms related to Banking, insurance, inflation, employment, poverty, National income, financial institutions, stock exchanges, Tax, budget etc. These topics can be covered in 5 days.

Q.2. Which of the following is the regulator of the credit rating agencies in India

 Lastly you can prepare current affairs section just 10 days before the examination. Current affairs include recent appointments, awards, venue and themes of recent summits, persons and places in news, anniversaries and days, developments in science and technology.

We hope that this post gives you an idea about preparation to General awareness section. This may not be the best preparation plan but for those who started their preparation recently and like to attempt exam this year itself, this plan can be useful.

Whatever the plan stick to it and prepare well. It will fetch 30 plus marks out of 50 in this section with decent preparation. Just spend 90 minutes daily for your preparation to General awareness.
